A temperature sensing device that changes resistance at a predetermined rate in response to changes in temperature. Platinum is commonly used in RTDs as well as copper and nickel. They can be wired in either 2, 3 or 4 wire configurations. Available as a PT100, PT250, PT500 and PT1000. The PT100 is the most common choice.
